Support JIS

The Japan in the Schools program is a free program of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington that presents Japanese language and culture to local area classrooms using native Japanese volunteers and authentic materials from Japan. It is funded by the Society as a community service program and relies on grants and donations for operating expenses. Please consider making a donation by clicking on the donation button below. This will take you to our secure donation page. You may also call the office at 206.374.0180 if you would rather make your donation to a staff person directly.

Your donation helps with general operating support for this program as well as purchases of consumables used in the presentations like: The Japan-America Society of the State of Washington is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN #23-7282194) and depends on the generosity of donors for operating revenue. Our mission is to "promote mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Japan and Washington State."

For the individual donor, we have created a group called "Kusano ne Kai" (Grassroots Club). Because we think it is in the donor’s interest to see our progress, we will send JIS activity reports to show how we serve the community.
